William (Bill) Crean has dedicated 41 years to the Department of Public Works in the City of Champions: Pittsburgh, PA. Over the decades, Bill has exemplified unwavering leadership, commitment, and service to the city and its residents. Bill began his career as a laborer and steadily advanced through the ranks, ultimately becoming Deputy Director. His deep understanding of the department, from the ground up, has made him an invaluable asset to the Department of Public Works and a respected figure among his colleagues and the community. Bill has been a member of APWA since 2016 and joined the Western Pennsylvania Chapter in 2020. He was elected President of APWA in 2026. He currently serves on the Chapter Membership Committee. The National Nominating Committee, and Bill played a key role in collaborating with National to host the North American Snow Conference that was held in Pittsburgh in 2022.
